Ultimately, professional development aims to improve an educator’s practice through adopting a holistic approach to the enhancement of their personal skills and proficiency as educators. It’s an ongoing process throughout the entire career of any teacher.

All professional teachers need to complete a minimum number of professional development hours to maintain registration. Each territory has its own guidelines, but it’s normally a minimum of 20 hours of PD for every calendar year, where you teach over 20 hours.
