I have been a research scientist at the University of Surrey Ion Beam Centre for over thirty years, liaising with national and international scientists wanting to run experiments on the Surrey ion accelerators. I have co-authored over 200 papers in the refereed scientific literature, and have contributed significantly to the analysis of thin materials using energetic ion beams.
I have also been interested for a long time in the history of ideas.
