Begum is a PhD student in Politics at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations. Her research analyses the durability of authoritarian regimes and explores the factors contributing to this process. She takes a comparative approach with a focus on Turkey and post-Soviet states.
Begum holds an MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics from University College London and a BA in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University.
