Marlen de la Chaux

I am interested in the creation of supportive environments for entrepreneurship. My research at the Judge Business School focuses on understanding the unique constraints and barriers that people encounter when they attempt to transform ideas into sustainable businesses.

My interest was fueled by the endurance I witnessed among female micro-entrepreneurs in Burkina Faso and seeing the vigor of refugee entrepreneurs all over the world while working with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Ultimately I hope that my research will facilitate policy-makers' efforts to create and maintain supportive entrepreneurial ecosystems in challenging environments.
