Professor of Pharmacy, Swansea University

Amira is a pharmacist and an independent prescriber (Substance Use Disorders). She who gained her PhD in the in-field detection of Novel Psychoactive Substance (NPS). Amira is a Professor of Pharmacy, the MPharm Programme Director at Swansea University Medical School and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is the Chair the RPS (Royal Pharmaceutical Society) Science and Research Committee, a committee member of JPAG (Joint Pharmaceutical Analysis Group), Pharmacy Research Wales (RSIG) and a member of the RPS Medicines, Ethics and Practice advisory board. Amira is a Fellow of The Learned Society of Wales. Amira’s research interests focus on enhancing the in-field detection of NPS, training and education of healthcare professionals on NPS and developing harm reduction interventions including establishing Drug Checking Services.
