Research Associate, University of Technology Sydney

Andrea Verdasco is Research Associate in the Institute for Public Policy and Governance at the University of Technology Sydney. She works on urban housing issues related to precarious housing conditions for older private renters and international students. She holds a PhD in anthropology from the University of Copenhagen where she explored the everyday lives of young unaccompanied refugees and how they constructed and negotiated a sense of identity and belonging in uncertain liminal circumstances. Andrea has worked extensively with refugee youth and children in the context of Eastern Africa with IOM Tanzania and UNICEF Mozambique.
